Orthodox churches still issue birth certificates however these certificates are not legal until birth is recorded by civil registrars.
Birth certificates are regulated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republoic of Macedonia. Registrars of municipalities (for instance, in Tito Veles) are authorized to issue birth certificates.
