Kannada: It is spoken in the state of Karnataka in South India.
Number of Kannada Speakers: 45 million.

Kannada Orthography: The Kannada script is similar to Telugu script containg 16 vowels, 35 consonants, and also half vowels/consonants. Kannada has the orthographic syllable consisting of a consonant and vowel (CV) core and optionally, one or more preceding consonants with a canonical structure.
Kannada Language History: The spoken Kannada language originated from the Halmidi inscription in 450 A.D. in the southern Bramhi lipi of Ashoka period of 9th century A.D. Pampa and Ranna were famous poets.
Kannada Language Enriched by: Sanskrit, Marathi, Urdu, Tamil, and Malayalam influenced the modern Kannada.
Unique Features of Kannada: It is quite a complicated language like other Indian languages containing half letters.
