Contents of Kannada marriage certificates

Marriage certificates in Kannada language are called “Memorandum of  Marriage” and contain spouse’s (husband of wife) first, middle, and last name, maiden name of woman, spouses’ father’s and mother’s name, name of issuing agency  and place of registration, name and title of signing officer.

Some memorandums of marriage may have additional information and data such as: nationalities, ages, and professions of father and mother, paternal and maternal grandfather and grandmother information, addresses (residences) of father, mother, and grandparents.

Who issues memorandums of marriage in Kannada language?

In many cases, Registrars of Marriage issue memorandum of marriage in Form – I (as in Karnataka) per Rule 4 under Indian Marriage Act, 1955.

You need to have your memorandum of marriage translated and certified

U.S. immigration (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services – USCIS, formerly Immigration and Naturalization Service – INS), U.S. Passport Agency, colleges, universities, and many other agencies and organizations require "Certification by Translator" issued by translation agency.
